A new year is nearly here, and you know what that means it’s time to get a new planner! Getting a new planner is always one of my favorite end of year activities, it’s so full of hope and potential. There are a lot of planners out there, so how do you know which one is right for you? I’m sharing my experiences with 3 different planners that will suit any need including my current favorite planner which I’m using for the second year in a row!
I love the passion planner (it happens to be my current planner & my 2019 planner) if you’ve followed me on Instagram you’ve probably seen me post about it (or sneak into my posts). The Passion Planer is great for anyone who wants some guidance to help them plan and set goals. At the beginning of the year, it guides you through the process of setting goals and helps you check in with those goals every month and throughout the year. It’s also great for encouraging you to reflect on your progress throughout the year and grow and change as needed.
Unfortunately, this year the Passion Planner only comes in one size and has limited colors this year. This was the biggest bummer for me this year, but since I like the content and found its overall layout so useful I decided to stick with it anyway.

Bullet Journal aka “Bujo”
The bullet journal is one of the most flexible methods of planning around. You can completely customize it and make it yours and it really allows you to embrace your creativity and passion for design. For this reason, I think it’s great for anyone whose artistically inclined, especially designers. It does require more work than other planners since you have to manually create spreads and write out your own designs, but the tradeoff is something that’s entirely unique to you and your needs. This also means it changes over time, so if you find you need new spreads in your life or what you are doing no longer works for you it’s easy to simply start the next week or month with a new method that meets your needs.
Who is the Bullet Journal For?
Anyone who wants ultimate planner freedom or to use their planner as a method of self-expression or art.

Plumb Paper Planner
This is the first planner I got for my business. It’s a great little planner with lots of customization options! I love it’s easy to use tab sections and the add-ons for your blog or business. The only complaint I have is that the blog add-ons were too short! I needed more space to track things like analytics and especially expenses & income. However, it’s very well made and made it through the year with no wear and tear. This planner does not have any built-in guidance for goal setting like the Passion Planner. It’s much more basic featuring weekly & monthly spreads and ample room for notes.
Who is the Plumb Paper Planner for?
Someone who wants a simple customizable planner.
